hello? ...It's for you -- it's the wild.

Tomorrow starts a new month.

w00t.

This month I've been in California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming....I really should've driven across the bridge when I was home so that I could've said I'd been in Washington too.
I'm going to go spend a few days in Utah here coming up.

I am much happier here than I was in Beverly Hills. Granted, I miss a lot of people in California, but this is a better place for me. Now its just trying to convince some people that they are not city folk, but rather they are country folk who had the grievous misfortune of growing up in a city. Really, it's a shame when people don't realize it. I know that a lot of people hate it when city folk come and invade the country, but I'm happy for them. They've felt the tug on their heart, and they are following it. Go team!!

I've thought of a new way to make friends....
I will stand in the grass area near the side of the path and play frisbee with myself. After watching me run from one side of the field to the other, someone is bound to stop and offer to play.... eh???? I think yes. Go me!!

Oh, as for my job; it was asked what I do...
I cook. (I'm getting pretty dang good. The shepherds pie tonight got seconds all around)
I clean. (I'm getting paid to wash dishes??? amazing!)
I foster two children's developmental growth. (hollar.)
I'm a nanny. It's good.

Here's the recipe for tonight's Shepherds Pie
as made by lisa for simplicity

Ingredients:
A bunch of ground lamb.
A bunch of cut (not chopped) up vegetables like onions, carrots, zucchinis, celery and corn.
A little salt.
A little pepper.
A couple cloves of garlic.
2 lbs of potatoes.
Cream
Butter
Olive Oil

Preheat the oven to 350.
Cook the lamb in a skillet with the onions (it just smells good to cook lamb and onions together).
Drain off all the meat juice and put the meat and onions in the casserole dish.
Saute the rest of the vegetables in the same skillet add oil (we don't need to dirty more dishes!)
While thats going on, make mashed potatoes. Thats where the cream comes in.
Now, this next step is for flare, but it really helps. Brown minced garlic in butter. Add those to the mashed potatoes. Maybe add some salt or milk or more butter if they need it.
Mix the vegetables with the lamb in dish. Spread it evenly. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Heap on the mashed potatoes, and make sure all the lamb and veggies are covered.
Bake at 350 for about 30 min. Or until the potatoes start to get a little brown.
Make two at a time and put one in the freezer to bake later.

Serves 6.

Then go home and make your own dinner.

Much love, lisa.
